- Distribution Results for the 2025-12 Period
The Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC) distributed copyright royalties to rights holders including creators and music publishers on December 8, 2025. The amount distributed for the 2025-12 period was 37,260,550,271 JPY (up 5.4% from the same period of the previous fiscal year), achieving a record high for December distributions. (*1)
JASRAC distributes copyright royalties paid by music users to rights holders on a quarterly basis (March, June, September, and December). The 2025-12 distribution primarily reflects royalty income between April 2025 and September 2025. (*2)

The number of works subject to distribution was 2,785,170 works. The number of rights holders subject to distribution, including distributions through music publishers, was 89,677 creators and 3,059 music publishers. Royalties were also distributed to 340,750 creators and 37,818 music publishers through 116 foreign copyright management organizations.
JASRAC will continue to strive for the development of the music industry and music culture by bringing returns to creators and rights holders.
(*1) Upon payment of royalties to right holders, deductions including administrative expenses and income tax are made from this amount.
(*2) The time required from the receipt of royalties to their distributions differs depending on the type of usage.
