Distribution Results for 2020-06 Period
Amount Distributed was 31 Billion JPY, 116.7% Compared to 2019-06 Period

On June 12, 2019, JASRAC distributed copyright royalties to rights holders including authors, composers and music publishers. The amount distributed for 2020-06 period was 31,036,817,547 JPY, which is 116.7% compared to the same period in the previous year (Administrative expenses, income tax etc. are deducted). JASRAC also decided to bring forward the schedule for distributing royalties to rights holders. (Please refer to article Regarding the Distribution Schedule of Royalties)

This distribution primarily reflects royalty income in the second half of fiscal 2019 (October 2019 to March 2020).

<Interactive transmissions>

The distribution was 188.1% compared to the previous fiscal year due to the expansion of subscription service and online video service markets. Also, JASRAC made an early distribution for online music services including subscription services and distributed two periods to some other online music services.

<Videogram Recordings>

The distribution was 123.0% compared to the previous fiscal year due to the use of hit products of famous artists.

Royalties were distributed to 2,154,209 works. The number of rightsholders who received royalties, including distribution through music publishers, was 64,950 writers and 2,709 music publishers. In addition, royalties were distributed to 288,192 writers and 35,309 music publishers through 119 foreign sister organizations.

JASRAC will continue to strive for the development of the music industry and music culture through the distribution of remuneration back to creators and rightsholders.
