Distribution Results for the 2026-06 Period- Amount distributed exceeds 35.8 billion JPY, up 3.2% from the 2025-06 period -

The Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC) distributed copyright royalties to rights holders including creators and music publishers on June 12, 2026. The amount distributed in the 2026-06 period was 35,840,952,384 JPY (3.2% year-on-year growth for the relevant period), a record high for June distributions (*1).

JASRAC distributes copyright royalties paid by music users to rights holders on a quarterly basis (March, June, September, and December). The 2026-06 distribution primarily reflects royalty income between October 2025 and March 2026. (*2)

Increase in the number of events, centered around large-scale concerts held in domes and arenas, resulted in approximately 1.65 billion JPY (up 11.3% from the same period of the previous fiscal year) distributed for major live concerts, and approximately 1.80 billion JPY (up 10.1% from the same period of the previous fiscal year) distributed for live concerts.

Foreign income

Increase in online royalties mainly from the United Kingdom and Mexico led to approximately 810 million JPY (up 25.8% from the same period of the previous fiscal year) distributed for foreign income (performances).

Interactive transmissions

The market for video streaming and music subscription services continued to maintain strength, with a distribution of approximately 16.0 billion JPY (up 16.4% from the same period of the previous fiscal year).

The number of works subject to distribution was 2,893,318 works. The number of rights holders subject to distribution, including distributions through music publishers, was 93,639 creators and 3,094 music publishers. Royalties were also distributed to 354,380 creators and 38,744 music publishers through 117 foreign copyright management organizations.

JASRAC will continue making efforts to contribute to the development of the music industry and music culture by bringing returns to creators and rights holders.

(*1) Administrative expenses, income taxes, etc. are deducted from the above amounts distributed when sent to rights holders.
(*2) The time required from receipt of royalties to their distributions differs depending on the type of usage.
