Distribution Results for the 2025-09 Period-Amount distributed exceeds 37.3 billion JPY, up 7.9% from the 2024-09 period-

The Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC) distributed copyright royalties to rights holders including creators and music publishers on September 8, 2025. The amount distributed for the 2025-09 period was 37,385,605,267 JPY (up 7.9% from the same period of the previous fiscal year), achieving a record high for September distributions. (*1)

JASRAC distributes copyright royalties paid by music users to rights holders on a quarterly basis (March, June, September, and December). The 2025-09 distribution primarily reflects royalty income between January 2025 and June 2025. (*2)

Major live concerts, etc.
Factors such as increase in the number of performances lead to distribution for "Performances, etc." amounting to approximately 1.57 billion JPY (up 7.3% from the same period of the previous fiscal year), and "Major live concerts, etc." held at large-scale venues such as domes and arenas distributing approximately 1.70 billion JPY (up 55.8% from the same period of the previous fiscal year).

There were multiple hit products from mainly idol groups, resulting in a distribution of approximately 2.07 billion JPY (up 25.5% from the same period of the previous fiscal year) for audio discs and approximately 2.42 billion JPY (up 24.1% from the same period of the previous fiscal year).
Interactive transmissions The market for video streaming and music subscription services continued to maintain strength, with a distribution of approximately 13.85 billion JPY (up 7.8% from the same period of the previous fiscal year).

The number of works subject to distribution was 2,774,618 works. The number of rights holders subject to distribution, including distributions through music publishers, was 89,234 creators and 3,045 music publishers. Royalties were also distributed to 354,667 creators and 39,880 music publishers through 116 foreign copyright management organizations.

JASRAC will continue to strive for the development of the music industry and music culture by bringing returns to creators and rights holders.

(*1) Upon payment of royalties to right holders, deductions including administrative expenses and income tax are made from this amount.

(*2) The time required from the receipt of royalties to their distributions differs depending on the type of usage.
