- Music Information Management System KENDRIX Migrates to Soneium
On April 15, 2025, the Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC) updated KENDRIX, a management system for musical works information equipped with a blockchain-based proof of existence (PoE) framework and eKYC functions. In this update, the blockchain used for the PoE framework was migrated to Soneium.
■What is Soneium?
Soneium is a public blockchain developed by a Sony Group company, Sony Block Solutions Labs Pte. Ltd. as an Ethereum Layer-2 protocol.
* Ethereum: Blockchain platform which uses cryptocurrency Ether (ETH) for program execution.
* Layer-2: Technology which tries to solve the issue of slowdown and increase of transaction costs which occur when processing data at the base-layer (Layer-1) of the blockchain. It receives requests to process transactions from the base-layer, operates the process outside of the relevant layer, and returns the results to Layer-1.
Migration to Soneium will lead to higher credibility of the PoE framework by improving tamper-resistance compared to the original blockchain (a private blockchain which was built for KENDRIX).
The migration will also strengthen the efforts of KENDRIX in realizing Soneium's goal of providing new value, namely, "supporting the maximization of creators' creativity and fan engagement."

■Blockchain migration notes
- Existing users: log in to KENDRIX no later than September 30, 2025 (Tuesday) and agree to the new Terms of Use and Purposes of Use of Personal Information. The PoEs you registered on the original blockchain will then be migrated to Soneium sequentially. If you do not agree by the above date, the PoE on the original blockchain platform will be deleted.
- Blockchain registration (issuance of PoEs) may require more time than before. For this reason, we have established a new function to notify users by email that blockchain registration has been completed.
KENDRIX will support the future of music creation by promoting innovation through leveraging technologies which support creators' activities.

KENDRIX is a DX (digital transformation) platform for creators based on the concept "Creating a world where all music creators can participate in the creation ecosystem."
