Our administrative expenses are deducted at certain rates on the distributed amounts before we distribute royalties to music creators and other right holders. JASRAC uses the administrative expenses for its operation. The rates for the administrative expenses are determined upon approval by the Board of Directors comprised of writers, music publishers, academics and experts, etc., taking into consideration the expenses that are actually required for the services in each usage category. The percentage of actual operational expenses against the amount of royalties distributed is 9.9% (FY 2022).

JASRAC will further promote copyright management and continue its efforts to boost work efficiency and reduce operational expenses in order to ensure that royalties paid by music users lead to new creations.
