JASRAC Fiscal 2022 Business Affairs

The collection of royalties of the Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC) for FY2022 was 129.01 billion JPY, and the distribution of royalties for FY2022 was 125.64 billion JPY.

Collection of royalties increased by 12.28 billion JPY compared to FY2021. In addition to the successful interactive transmissions, driven by subscription services and video-sharing platforms, there was a significant increase in performances, etc. due to the relaxation of various restrictions (in response to COVID-19 pandemic). As a result, these results surpassed the previous record of FY2019, which amounted to 117.89 billion JPY.

Distribution of royalties increased by 9.67 billion JPY compared to FY2021. The sustained success of interactive transmissions and the rise in performances, etc. contributed to this overall increase, surpassing the previous record of FY2020, which amounted to 120.63 billion JPY.
