Free License for Public Transmission (Simultaneous Transmission of Teaching Material Data) by Educational Institutions Accompanying Measures against COVID-19

JASRAC decided to issue free license of public transmission (simultaneous transmission of teaching material data) to educational institutions that temporarily remain closed due to the measures against COVID-19.

Based on the measures "Temporary closure of Japan's schools" from MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) on February 28, 2020, which asked the educational institutions to be temporary closed, we understand that it is a difficult time to continue educational programs while keeping children and students healthy.

Under such circumstances, initiatives such as downloading teaching material data by using a tablet, sending such data to children and students via e-mail and remote guidance or self-study by using information and communication technology can be assumed.

Considering the urgency and importance of this situation, JASRAC has decided to issue free license of public transmission for school lessons.

<Conditions for free use>

1.Transmit publicly by educational institutions.

2.Public transmission delivered by educational institutions must be a part of school lessons.

3.Educational institutions that temporarily remain closed.

* No licensing procedure to JASRAC is required if above conditions are met.
