The Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC) has concluded a blanket licensing agreement with LINE Corporation regarding the services operated by the said company, along with the music use of JASRAC repertoire distributed by users such as companies and artists who use the services.

・Music distribution on LINE official accounts of companies/artists and LINE NEWS;
・Music distribution on LINE LIVE;
・Music distribution on LINE accounts (of individual users) which linked to LINE MUSIC for use such as BGM settings, recommendation to friends.

※　JASRAC has already concluded blanket licensing agreements with LINE MUSIC Corporation regarding music distribution on LINE MUSIC Corporation, and with LINE Corporation regarding music uploaded/distributed by users on LINE LIVE.

With the licensing agreement concluded, companies and artists who deliver contents on the above-mentioned services will be able to stream a large number of domestic and foreign works administered by JASRAC without making individual licensing procedures or payments. In addition, individual users will be able to lawfully enjoy music contents provided by companies and artists, as well as those provided by LINE Corporation, including LINE MUSIC and LINE LIVE.

Through these licensing agreements, JASRAC will receive usage report and royalties from LINE Corporation, and distribute to the right holders such as authors, composers and publishers who have entrusted JASRAC on administrating the musical works, with detailed usage data.

JASRAC has been promoting licensing agreements with business operators in order to let users enjoy music from all over the world freely, as well as to ensure creators to gain fair remuneration. This time, JASRAC was able to share the view in developing music culture with the concept "Creation Cycle" and concluded the blanket licensing agreement with LINE Corporation.

JASRAC will continue to strive for the development of the music industry and music culture by liaising with not only right holders, but also all music users who support the creation cycle.
