Results for Royalty Distribution for 2018-12 Distribution Period
Distribution Amount of 26.8 Billion JPY, 104.0% Compared to 2017-12 Period

On December 25, JASRAC distributed copyright royalties to lyricists, composers, music publishers and other rights owners.

The distribution amount for the 2018-12 distribution period was 26,893,232,098 JPY, 104.0% compared to the 2017-12 distribution period.

Royalties were distributed for 1,844,976 works. The number of rights holders that received royalties, including those received through music publishers was 59,930 authors and 2,589 publishers. Also, royalties were distributed to 249,454 authors and 30,828 music publishers through 116 foreign sister collective management organizations.

By category, interactive transmissions was 158.3% compared to the 2017-12 period due to the expansion of the subscription service and online video service market, and performances, etc. was 108.4% compared to the 2017-12 period due to the steady growth of the live entertainment market.

JASRAC distributes royalties which are paid by music users to rights holders four times a year (March, June, September, and December). JASRAC will announce our results each distribution period in order to widely inform the distribution of royalties.
