Effective January 1, 2023, the Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC) concluded a reciprocal representation agreement with SAYCE (Sociedad General de Autores y Compositores del Ecuador), a copyright management organization in the Republic of Ecuador in South America, concerning performing rights and mechanical rights.

Consequently, the Republic of Ecuador, which belonged to the area where mechanical rights are administered by SGAE (Sociedad General de Autores y Editores), a copyright management organization in Spain, is no longer under the administration of SGAE pursuant to the above agreement.

By concluding this reciprocal representation agreement, the number of foreign societies which JASRAC has agreements with totals 127 societies (97 countries and 4 regions). For more information about our contract status with foreign societies, please refer here.
