JASRAC Fiscal 2023 Business Affairs
The Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC) collected JPY137.16 billion and distributed JPY135.12 billion in FY2023, both marking a record high.
Royalty collections increased by JPY8.14 billion compared to FY2022. This can be attributed to categories which maintained their strength, such as interactive transmissions in which music and video subscription services remained strong, and performances, etc. with the number of large-scale concerts and live performances increasing. For the first time, collections surpassed JPY130 billion.
Distribution increased by JPY9.47 billion from FY2022, also exceeding JPY130 billion for the first time. Royalties were distributed to more than three million works, amounting to 3,121,804 works.
More information can be found here.
JASRAC will continue to strive for the development of the music industry and music culture by returning to creators and rights holders the compensation they deserve.
