Special measures for charity concerts in support of those affected
by the Great East Japan Earthquake

JASRAC extends its deepest sympathy to those affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake which occurred on March 11, and sends its best wishes for a rapid restoration of the disaster stricken regions.

JASRAC has decided to issue gratis licenses for concerts and other performances for charity which are held to support those affected by the disaster and to help the recovery of the affected region, as described below.

[Usages to which gratis licenses apply]
Performing usage of works and printing usage of works in program brochures and flyers for events held on or after March 11, 2011 are subject to gratis licenses, provided that the following requirements are fulfilled.

[Requirements]
1.  All admission charge revenue must be donated (excluding costs necessary to hold the concerts and other performances for charity, such as the venue fee).
2.  As all admission charge revenue must be donated, participating performers may not receive any compensation.
3.  Donations must be made to organizations acting to support those affected by the disaster and to help the recovery of the affected region, such as local public organizations, the Japanese Red Cross Society, and others which manage donations.
4.  Please apply for licenses prior to the concerts and other performances for charity by attaching an "Application for Gratis License" to your "Application for Use of Musical Works" submission.
5.  After the donation is made, please submit without delay a statement of income and expenditure, receipt(s) covering the costs, and receipt(s) issued by the organization receiving the donation.
6.  In case program brochures are printed for the charity concerts and events, please indicate on the brochure that a gratis license has been obtained from JASRAC.
