Tokyo Declaration Announced by APMA Chairman Shunichi Tokura (JASRAC Executive Advisor)

APMA (Asia-Pacific Music Creators Alliance) Chairman and JASRAC Executive Adviser Shunichi Tokura announced the Tokyo Declaration at the press conference on November 8, 2017 which was organized by CIAM (International Council of Music Authors) and APMA. The press conference was held after its first CIAM congress in the Asia-Pacific region.

Followed by the Seoul Declaration which was adopted at the first APMA Executive Committee in May 2017, the Tokyo Declaration was adopted by the first APMA General Assembly, which was held on November 6, 2017, in order to identify issues currently faced by music creators in the various countries of the Asia-Pacific region. The Tokyo Declaration has also gained full support of the CIAM Congress.

The Tokyo Declaration is envisaged as a powerful voice to encourage governments, policy makers and lawmakers in the region to address these issues in their respective countries.
