Reduction of the Administrative Expense Rates and Revision of the Rules of Administration Expense

JASRAC has decided to lower the administration expense rates and revise the Rules of Administration Expense as stated below.

1. Reduction of applied rate (from 2016-06 distribution)

   【Categories for which rates are lowered from fiscal year 2016】

   *   Upon distributing royalties to Members and Trustors, a specified rate (administrative expense rate) of the amount to be distributed is deducted as administrative expenses, to be used for business operations. The administrative expense rates that are actually applied (applied rates) are determined with the approval of the JASRAC Board of Directors, within the limits of the administrative expense rates (registered rates) that are notified to the Commissioner of the Agency for Cultural Affairs.

2. Revision of the Rules of Administration Expense (from 2016-09 distribution)

   Reproduction for Advertisement	13%	8% (**)
   Reproduction for Games	13%

   **  With regard to royalty amounts determined by the trustor, 8% is applicable for the portion of the royalty amount that is up to 3,000,000 yen, 2% is applicable for the portion that is more than 3,000,000 yen and up to 10,000,000 yen, and 1% is applicable for the portion that is more than 10,000,000 yen. When the trustor does not determine the royalty amount, it will be licensed based on the royalty amount prescribed in the Tariffs for Use of Musical Works based on the form of reproduction, therefore the applied rate of the corresponding royalty category will be applied.
