Copyright Data Clearinghouse (CDC) was established
An incorporated association, Copyright Data Clearinghouse (CDC) was established and it was announced at the press conference
held in Tokyo on March 6, 2009.
CDC, a non-profit making association, joined by JASRAC, was established in order to reduce the cost and workload for license
application procedure and reporting conducted by the music contents providers on one hand, and for licensing and royalty
distribution conducted by the copyright management business operators on the other hand. Such cost and workload have been
significantly increased due to the rapid growth and development in digital contents distribution through the Internet and
mobile phones.
