JASRAC CONCLUDES RECIPROCAL REPRESENTATION AGREEMENT WITH KOMCA
JASRAC (Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers / President: Mamoru Kato) concluded a reciprocal representation agreement with KOMCA (Korea Music Copyright Association / Chairman: Myung Kil Chi) on December 10, 2007 at the Lotte Hotel in Seoul. The President of JASRAC visited Seoul to conclude this agreement, which will cover music copyrighted works administered by both societies. The agreement will take effect from January 1, 2008.
The conclusion of a reciprocal representation agreement with KOMCA has a historic meaning for the adequate and appropriate protection of music copyrighted works and the development of music culture exchange between both countries.
1. Outline of agreement
The reciprocal representation agreement will allow either society to administer (license, collect and distribute royalties) usage of the other society’s repertoire in its own country on behalf of the other society. |
